Hummus

Homemade hummus is a delicious appetizer that easy to prepare.

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can (28 oz.) garbanzo beans, rinsed
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 cup tahini
  • Juice of 3 lemons
  • 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Garnish:
  • Thinly sliced green onions
  • Roasted slivered almonds
  • Black olive slices
  • Hot paprika (Hungarian)
1. Place garbanzo beans, garlic, cumin, tahini, lemon juice, and olive oil in a food processor. Puree until a smooth, thick paste is obtained. If the mixture is too dry, add a small amount of water.


2. To serve, smear the baba ghanoush on a plate. Sprinkle with green onions, almonds, olives, and paprika. Serve with warm pita bread.
