Salons across the country are teaching you how to properly blow-dry your hair.
Most women know, a good blowout can last days but the problem is, when we try to do it ourselves, we just can't replicate what our stylist has created. Good news, ladies! Salons across the country are beginning to offer Blowout Lessons for their clients. Here are a few key tips to remember:
- Invest in a Good Dryer, one not too heavy and that has a "cool" button"
- Make sure you have and use a nozzle.
- Use a Good Brush -- most stylists prefer round brushes
- Towel Dry Hair as much as you can. Styling actually "takes" when hair is at least 90% dry.
- Divide your hair with clips so you can work on one area at a time.
- Use a heat protector product on your hair.
- Blow dry hair from roots to the ends.
- Angle Down: Always keep the nozzle/airflow angled down toward the ends, which will make the cuticles lie flat and ultimately make your hair look smoother and shinier.
- Blast of Cool Air: When you've completed your blow dry, blast your hair with a burst of cold air from the dryer. It helps set the hair.
